Poly(lactic acid) is one of the most important polymers used in the packaging and medical industries, due to its biocompatible and biodegradable nature. But it has a slow degradation rate and high price. The present study was conducted with the aim of developing an efficient method for accelerating the degradation of Poly(lactic acid) films and reusing waste to reduce the price. For this purpose, the mixture of PLA and eggshell (ESP) was prepared through a solution method. In order to investigate the effect of ESP on PLA film properties, morphology, water vapor permeability, and biodegradability were performed. Both water vapor permeation and biodegradability were increased by adding ESP. The rate of degradation of PLA filled with ESP was almost twice that of the pure sample.
