Polysulfone is considered as one of the most important polymeric materials for membrane applications, however it has low hydrophilicity, which is not favorable for water treatment. In this research, a novel poly(sulfone sulfide) was synthesized and used for membrane desalination, which showed improved hydrophilicity compared to commercial polysulfone. This polymer revealed 98.5 L.m-2.h-1 pure water flux, 84.7% salt rejection,  and 83.2% flux recovery.
