While polysulfone is one of the essential materials in membrane science due to exceptional properties like thermal properties, mechanical proprieties, and chemical stability, it has low hydrophilicity. Increasing the flexibility and hydrophilicity of polysulfone can significantly improve its application in water treatment. Hence, in this research, a novel diol comprising urethane groups was synthesized, which was used to prepare poly(sulfone urethane) and desalination membrane thereof, resulting in 98 L.m-2.h-1 pure water flux, 84.7% salt rejection, and 83.2% flux recovery ratio.
