Lotus-like materials with superhydrophobicity are attaining greater demand due to the possibility of using them in different high-end applications. The primary issue related to self-cleaning superhydrophobic surfaces is their restricted mechanical properties. The development of nanotechnology has brought many advantages in the fabrication and properties of superhydrophobic surfaces, thus enhancing the demand for superhydrophobic surfaces. Many scientific groups have studied and reported the superhydrophobicity of graphene and its analogous derivatives. This study focuses on the preparation and properties of graphene-based superhydrophobic coating materials, with special mention to the wide range of applications they rendered. For this purpose, GO (graphene oxide), MGO (magnetic graphene oxide), and MGO-PDA hybrid filler were synthesized and the properties were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). MGO was synthesized by the co-precipitation method.
