Polyurethanes have a wide range of applications due to their tunable physical and mechanical properties. In this research polyurethane samples were synthesized based on hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and 1,4-butanediol (BDO) as hard segments and polycaprolacone diol (PCL) and dihydroxy terminated polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS) as soft segments. The chemical structure and successful synthesis of polyurethane samples were confirmed by FTIR spectra. Phase morphology and thermophysical properties of polyurethane samles were studied by DSC and the mechanical behavior of prepared specimens were investigated by uniaxial tensile test.
