In this study, fluorescent polyurethane was synthesized by using 5,7-dihydroxy-4-methylcoumarin as the chain extender. The chemical structure of the resulting polyurethane was confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. Tensile analysis was used to measure the Young’s modulus and strain at break of the fluorescent polyurethane, and the fluorescence emission was observed under UV light.
