In this work, we report the synthesis and characterization of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts based on chromium containing tridentate ligands in ethylene trimerization. Bis(2-decylsulfanylethyl)amine.CrCl3 (Cr-SNS-D) and bis-(2-butylsulfanylethyl)amine (Cr-SNS-B) as homogeneous catalysts were synthesized and then immobilized on SBA-15 and Ti-SBA-15 mesoporous silica to synthesis the corresponding heterogeneous catalysts. Then their catalytic activity in the ethylene trimerization process was evaluated. Cr-SNS-D and Cr-SNS-B catalysts presented the activity of 60772 and 53344 g1-C6/gCr.h, respectively, and selectivity of 99.99%. Also, the Cr-SNS-D@Ti-SBA-15 heterogeneous catalyst showed higher activity than Cr-SNS-D@SBA-15 catalyst under the same reaction condition.
