Evaluation of the Toluene Progen Effect on Porous Polymer Emulsion Poly (Styrene-Divinylbenzene)

In this research, first emulsion synthesis of poly (styrene-divinyl benzene) was performed and then the effect of increasing toluene progen in the monomeric phase on the structure of porous polymer was investigated. Scanning electron microscopy was used to study the surface morphology and determine the size distribution of surface cavities. As the percentage of toluene progen increased, the size of the pores increased and the slope increased to less than 20% of toluene. However, with increasing the percentage, there was not much change in the diameter of the cavities, and only the system moved towards a uniform distribution of the size of the cavities, and not much density changes were observed with an increase of more than 20% of the toluene progen.
