In this research, we aim to analyze a mathematical model of carbon dioxide emissions from the energy sector as a problem of fractional optimal control. We solve the fractional optimal control problem by a forward-backward sweep iterative algorithm Numerical simulations are reported for various fractional orders, and simulation results are compared with a real case.
