The dyeing of cotton fabrics with madder as a natural dye was studied via ultrasonic method. Also these results were compared to conventional dyeing method. The washing fastness of the dyed samples was studied without mordant. Therefore no mordant cotton items were dyed by ultrasonic method at a constant temperature of 50 °C and time of 30, 60 and 90 minutes and at the same times by the conventional method in temperature of 50 and 100 °C (boiling). Color parameters of dyed samples including a*, b* and L* and K / S values were measured via the reflectance spectrophotometer device
