Inkjet printing of precisely defined structures is critical for the realization of a range of printed electronic (PE) devices applications. This review paper describes the influence of the surface wettability and substrate temperature on the geometrical characteristics such as shape and morphology of conductive lines of nanosilver suspension by inkjet printing. The shapes and sizes of lines are sensitive to changes in both surface wettability and substrate temperature. Surface wettability is related to the droplet spread on the substrate. Dots on hydrophobic surfaces had thick morphologies compared to those on hydrophilic surfaces. The results obtained from literature surveys show that the substrate effects on the shapes and morphologies of inkjet-printed lines and hence their electrical properties.
