CdSe Quantum dots (QDs) prepared by hydrothermal method. X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed the formation of wurtzite structure of CdSe. HR-TEM image showed the formation of CdSe primary particles up to 3 nm, less than Bohr radius and indicated the formation of well-crystalline QDs. Effect of hydrothermal temperature and soaking time on the PL intensity and peak position was investigated. The results showed that the best sample obtained at 120 °C hydrothermal temperature and 60 min soaking time. Moreover, the band gap of the best sample was determined around 3.2 eV which was high in comparison with CdSe bulk sample (2.8 eV).
