-ZnS Quantum dots (QDs) have been prepared by hydrothermal method. HR-TEM image showed the formation of CdSe primary particles up to 3 nm, less than Bohr radius and indicated the formation of well-crystalline QDs. Effect of different amounts of ZnS as a passive shell on the photoluminescence intensity and peak position was investigated. The results showed that the optimum emission was detected by the formation of Wt% ZnS of ZnS shell. Furthermore, reductant type showed the strong effect on emission spectra. The highest intensity belonged to sodium borohydride.
