In this study, PAMAM dendrimer has been covalently grafted on 1-1 bis(prpylamine)-4,4ʹ-bipyridylium dibromide via the reaction of amine group with the cynuric chloride, with a 1:3 ratio to yield electrochromic dye. The electrochromic dye based on 4,4ʹ-bipyridyl was characterized by FTIR and NMR. The electrochemical properties of synthesized 4,4ʹ-bipyridyl-functionalized dendrimers were investigated using cyclic voltammetry in a 0.1 M electrolyte HCl.
