This paper presents a Fuzzy optimization method to
enhance the operational planning optimal power flow (OPF)
considering unified power flow controller (UPFC). The OPF
problem is formulated as a nonlinear constrained objective
optimization problem with both equality and inequality
constraints. The proposed procedure is very significant to
eliminate violation constraints and to give an optimal solution.
The proposed multi-objective functions are to optimize the total
fuel cost and active power losses. Firstly, the total fuel cost
generation and active power losses objective functions are
optimized individually in order to define the membership
function of objective, then, the multi-objective problem is
reformulated into a new standard nonlinear problem by the
fuzzy sets theory and max-min operator. Finally, it is solved by
nonlinear programming with discontinuous derivatives (DNLP)
method. The simulation results of IEEE 3-generator 14-bus
System show performance of method.
