Nanostructured ZnS thin films were obtained by an environmental friendly CBD method using the nontoxic materials for 4h deposition time. ZnS thin films were investigated in terms of morphology, particle size and compactness by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The transmittance of the films in the visible region as well as roughness of the films was studied by the ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy and the atomic force microscopy (AFM), respectively. The annealing effect in air atmosphere on the morphology, compactness, particle size, band gap energy and transmittance of the ZnS thin films were also investigated.
