Some work has been done in the past on the approximation of the parameter of Lognormal
distribution based on complete and censored samples. But, traditionally it is assumed that
the available data are performed in exact numbers. However, in real world situations, some
collected data might be imprecise and are represented in the form of fuzzy numbers. Therefore,
we need suitable methodology to handle these data as well. This paper deals with the
problem of approximating the parameters of Lognormal distribution when the available data
are in the form of fuzzy numbers. A new method is proposed to determine the maximum
likelihood estimates of the parameters of interest. Monte Carlo simulations are carried out
to assess the accuracy of the proposed method.
