Based on the First order Shear Deformation Theory
(FSDT) this paper focuses on the vibrational behavior of
functionally graded (FG) truncated conical shells. The
materials are assumed to be isotropic and
inhomogeneous in the axial direction of conical shell.
The two-constituent (FG) shell consists of ceramic and
metal. These constituents are graded through the length,
from one end of the shell to the other end. The derived
governing equations are solved using Differential
Quadrature Method (DQM). The primary results of this
study were compared primarily with those available in
the literatures. In this work, the vibration characteristics
of simply supported boundary condition for both ends
for FG truncated conical shells are obtained in terms of
various circumferential wave numbers. Furthermore, the
effect of the geometrical properties on the natural
frequency is also examined.
