In this paper, we shall attempt to introduce a discrete analogue of the generalized exponential distribution of Gupta and Kundu (1999). This new discrete generalized exponential (DGEC. p)) distribution can be viewed as another generalization of the geometric distribution. We shall first study some basic distributional and moment properties of this family of new distributions. Then, we will reveal their structural properties and investigate estimation of their parameters. Finally, we will examine the model with a real data, set.
