Effect of Functionalized Graphene Oxide on the Properties of Epoxy/Carbon Fiber Nanocomposites

Abstract- This study reports the synthesis and characterization of graphene oxide (GO) and functionalized GO for improvement of epoxy/carbon fiber nanocomposites. Functionalized graphene oxide (GO) have been synthesized from the reaction of GO with thionyl chloride and reaction of the product with the amine group of 4, 4’-Diamino diphenylsulfone. Various characterization techniques such as FTIR and XRD results showed that the amine groups have been successfully grafted onto the surface of GO nanoparticles. Keywords: , , n,e
