Cementing oil wells is a process of mixing cement powders, additives, and water and pumping the resulting slurry into the annulus around the casing. Different techniques were used to improve and optimize the drilling cement properties. This study investigates the effect of polyacrylamide (APAM), Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) and shape and size of the molds on compressive strength of the placed cement. For this purpose, response surface method (RSM) was used to perform the optimum number of experiments. According to RSM, the compressive strength of the prepared cements was investigated by ten different experiments in seven days intervals. To guarantee the results each experiment was repeated three times hence thirty experiments in total were performed. Base on the experimental analysis, the linear model was obtained as the best model to evaluate the compressive strength of the cement. Also observed was the fact that the compressive strength was improved by decreasing the internal mold diameter and increasing the amount of additives. Furthermore, the results obtained from regression analysis showed the negligible interaction between parameters
