Buckling analysis of cracked FGM plates under mechanical loadings

Abstract- The aim of the present paper is to analyze the buckling of cracked functionally graded materials plates under mechanical loadings. Several numerical parametric analyses are performed, employing the finite element method, in order to determine the critical load multiplier. A functionally graded plate made of aluminum and alumina. The effective material properties of the functionally graded plates are assumed to vary through their thickness direction according to the power-law distribution of the volume fractions of the constituents. The orientation of crack is perpendicular to the orientation of loading and the location of crack is in the middle of the plate. The effects of the volume fraction power on buckling loads are presented. This parameter is shown to has significant effect on the buckling of the plate under mechanical loading. Some new results are also discussed in detail. Keywords - , ,
