Latin Abstract
Madihin poem as one of the Banjar oral literatures in South Kalimantan has specific characteristics and structure. The specificity is seen ofthe Madihin poem which may also be used as the poetry in stage plays. The Madihin play structure includes the opening, installing tabi, menguran, and closing. The creativity of the madihin players in creating the rhymes and skills in hitting the fly (a type of tambourine) are required. In designing and developing Madihin, the local governments, agencies, and public educational institutions and television media strongly support the retention and preservation efforts of madihin poems.
