THE ASSESMENT OF BAKİ’S ONE LYRIC REGARDING ITS COMMENT AND ALLITERATION

Baki, one of the important poets of the 16th century, contributed a lot to the development of divan poetry and its widespread in the Ottoman geography. In this article, Baki’s lyric which starts withBir lebi gonca yüzi gül-zâr dirsen işte sen Hâr-ı gamda candelîb-i zâr dirsen işte ben these couplet has been commented with classical style and the alliterations used in the lyric have been evaluated in terms of structure. In his poems, Baki paid attention not only to the repetitions and the alliteration but also to the associations of the couplets with the meanings. For instance, the strong consonants in the fifth couplet give the feeling of the lover’s being in a difficult situation, and in the sixth couplet the severity of the lover’s mercilessness. Furthermore, in divan poetry the contents regarding beloved and lover who are the heroes of the love motifs have been banded together. The poet analyzed the motifs belonging to the beloved and the lover in divan poetry by using “you and me” pronouns. While pointing out the features of the lover and beloved, he has equally used the “you and me” pronouns.
