Abstract :
In this study Hamdullah Hamdi’s Mathnawi of Yusuf u Züleyha and the novel called Joseph und Seine Brüder by Thomas Mann will be compared. While the Mathnawi of Hamdullah Hamdi gets its source from the Holy Qur’an, Thomas Mann’s Joseph und Seine Brüder gets the source from The Bible. The study aims to indicate how the characters Jacop, Joseph and Zuleyha that are the threemain characters of both of the works are portrayed in the plot.
