“PASSWORT DEUTSCH 1” AN EVALUATION OF GERMAN COURSEBOOK IN THE CONTEXT OF INTERCULTURAL APPROACH
Abstract :
This study takes the German coursebook “Passwort Deutsch 1” studied in Ankara Kalaba Anatolian High School in Keçiören in hand. In this selected book is searched how many expressions of ‘Intercultural Approach’ are there. In this sense, the definitions of culture and intercultural approach are provided and the importance of cultural concepts in language teaching is given in the theoretical section. In the empirical part of the study, with the light these concepts shed some samples from the units of the coursebook were chosen and were examined in order to find whether culture is presented adequately in these samples or not.
