Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to investigate biology teachers’ classroom management profiles in terms of gender and seniority variables. In this study, which is of descriptive nature, a screening model was used. Totally 110 biology teachers who work in central districts of Ankara province took part in the study. Data for the study were collected through “Classroom Management Profile Inventory” which was prepared by Kris (1996) and adapted to Turkish by Ekici (2004).Descriptive statistics; independent groups t-test and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) were used to analyze the data. As a result of the study, it was revealed that biology teachers used the most appreciated classroom management profile. It was determined that female teachers preferred to use the most appreciated classroom management profile, whereas male teachers preferred to use the most authoritarian classroom management profile. As a result of the evaluation in terms of gender and seniority, it was found out that averages of biology teachers’ classroom management profiles did not show a statistically significant difference.
