Abstract :
Seeming meaningless, incomprehensible, empty and absurd at first glance; shathıyya have their own language and semantic world. To resolve this language and semantic world, its necessary to know the terminology about shathıyya. By learning such terminology one begins to understand the secrets of sufism behind shathıyya. Idris-i Muhtefi s poem - who lived in 16th century- beginning with the verse as since present I have been born three times from my mother is an example of shathıyya that seems incomprehensible at first glance. This poem of İdrîs-i Muhtefî was expounded by a person known as Alî Şermî Nakşibendî. He has expounded this shathıyya of İdrîs-i Muhtefî within terms of sufism. In this work, firstly Idrîs-i Muhtefî and Alî Şermî Efendi will be presented, the copies of the shathıyya will be introduced, the content of the shathıyya will be mentioned and a comparative text of its two copies will be included.
