The lack of universal critical view in our field of literature which starts with westernization is a literary problematic issue. As time goes by, those which are done on behalf of criticism are seen to be a praise or satire. This agony from which poets and authors have suffered has continued until present. Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu, whose authorship is based on both Ottomon tradition and Western tradition, complains about this situation, too. He utters the concrete signs of his complaint in his evaluation writings related to each new literature and art activities which were formed in his time. When writing life of Karaosmanoğlu, particularly his writings in newspapers and periodicals is examined, it is seen that he undertakes the evaluation of each form of literary activities in his age as a mission or duty. Especially, evaluation of authors, poets and their activities in his age can be observed as his top priority field of writings. One of the subjects to his evaluations is Süleyman Nazif.
