Abstract :
Khatib al-Baghdadi, writing on Islamic sciences in many different fields particularly hadith, is a versatile Islamic scientist. It is known that there are his lost books are cannot be reached today while most of his approximately one hundred works has been reached. One of these works, covering twenty-eight hadith, is a little pamphlet (risalah) that is associated with the appearance of the crescent. Mentioned the pamphlet can be associated with hadith and fiqh. The pamphlet, an example of this manuscript, is mentioned titled with ‘en-Nehy an Savm-i Yevm-i Şek’ in the oldest sources in terms of the name and content. In this article, firstly, it has been criticized that the critical edition on the pamphlet, having two different names, is alleged to belong to Khatib by two different researchers. Afterwards, contrary to many popular beliefs, it has been examined that the claims which is put forward by the two researchers as well as the pamphlet titled with ‘en-Nehy an Savm-i Yevm-i Şek’ which is alleged to belong to Khatib al-Baghdadi in the classical sources has been evaluated. Finally, it has been underlined that the pamphlet was the first time added to the regarding literature.
