5th Grade Students’ Mistakes and Misconceptions in Solving Problems about Fractions
Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine 5th grade students’ mistakes and misconceptions in solving problems about fractions. Sample of the study consists of 6 5th grade students in a primary school in Eskisehir. These students were selected according to their success levels as there were one girl and one boy in every level. In order to obtain data, semi-structured interview forms were used and each subject was interviewed individually. The content analyze method was used for analyzing data. According to the results of the study, there were some mistakes and misconceptions in solving problems about fractions of students.
