Abstract :
In this study, which is in a survey model, it was aimed to determine the suitability of teacher candidates’ qualities to cooperative learning method. The population of this study consists of third class teacher candidates of Faculties of Education and Technical Education. A sample of 505 teacher candidates was selected from this population randomly. Data were obtained with five-item likert type scale and frequency, descriptive, t-test, mann mhitney tests were applied. As a result of this study, it was determined that teacher candidates had these qualities considerably: listening different opinions, behaving democratically, performing responsibilities and being attentive for a shared process of decision making, communicate others, seeing others’ personalities as valuable, being equitable, not to nurture grudge against others and attaching importance to sharing and cooperation. In this context, it was revealed that teacher candidates were suitable to cooperative learning method. Besides, it was concluded that qualities of teacher candidates of Technical Education Faculty were more suitable to cooperative learning method. The use of cooperative learning methods should be given importance.
