According to Students’ Perceptions Class Management Competences of Grade 4 and 5 Teachers
Abstract :
The aim of this study was to determine the class management competence of grade 4 and 5 teachers working in primary cchools, dependant to the students perceptions. The population of this study constitutes education and training activities in primary schools of Kovancılar district in Elazığ Province in the academic year 2009-2010. 10 primary schools selected through cluster sampling within this population comprise the sampling of this research. Classroom Management Competence of Teachers (CMCT) survey was applied to 415 4th and 5th class students in the sample. The data obtained as a result of the application demonstrates that the student’s own perception of their teachers’ classroom management competencies was very high. According to perceiving their teachers’ classroom management competencies, girls have higher perception than boys in gender and 4th class have better perception than 5th. There are significant differences between opinions in favor of girls in gender variable in two items, and in favor of 4th class students in class variable in 3 three items.
