Abstract :
This research aims to determine the roles of headmasters on the job-training of the pre-service teachers according to the opinions of the pre-service teachers. The sample of the research is consisted of the188 pre-service teachers working in Yozgat. In order to collect the data of the research, a thirty eight item data collector is developed which consists of the areas of guidance such as ‘education-instruction’, ‘adaptation to school and environment’ and ‘the related principles and duties of responsibilities. For the analysis of the data, variance analysis, t-test and Turkey HSD test are used. According to the datas that are gathered; we can see that the guidance of the headmasters to the the pre-service teachers on the job-training is insufficent.Besides this,it is observed that the guidance area of the ‘education-instruciton’ is less effective than the other areas on the job training.A meaningful distinction is observed among the ideas of the pre-service teachers in the headmaster’s guidance to them which is directly related with the headmasters’ type of schools, graduation fields and professional priorities. According to the pre-service teachers, it is determined that primary schools headmasters guidance to pre-service teachers are far more effective than secondary school headmasters; the other finding that can be inferred from the ideas of the pre-service teachers is that the headmasters whose graduation fields are primary school teachers are more beneficial than the ones whose graduation fields are secondary schools in guidance to preservice teachers. The last thing that can be understood from the research is that professionally more experienced headmasters are more effective in guidance to pre-service teachers than the less experienced ones. Consequently headmasters should get comprehensive in-service training in order that they can be more effective in vocational guidance to pre-service teachers.
