Abstract :
In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the mathematic’ lesson and practice books taught in the first grade of elementary school according to the views of teachers. With this aim, a developed questionnaire taking into account content, learning, teaching and assessment, which are predetermined qualities, has been applied to the 87 classroom teachers working in the city centre of Bitlis. According to the result of research, the lesson and practice books have the qualifications to be determined generally. However, it has been found out that they are insufficient as a whole or in part in terms of some issues such as the using of scientific method of thinking, providing the active participation of students in lesson, to use of visual and technological materials and ensuring integrity the gains with acquisitions. With these determined findings, the some suggestions have been presented in order to contribute to the developments related to the lesson books which will be done in future.
