Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to determine the general academic knowledge (GAK) of teacher candidates on erosion. The sample of the research includes 287 teacher candidates. Totally “27” questions including “23” multiple choice, “3”closed end questions (yes- no) and “1” open ended question were asked to teacher candidates. While comparisons were applied in multiple choice questions in data collecting tool, academic knowledge point was used as the dependent variable. Data collected were analyzed by percentage frequency, independent groups, t- test, one-way analysis of variance and chi- square techniques. In statistical analyzes, significance level is accepted as 0.05. As a result of this research, it is concluded that the general academic achievements of teacher candidates on erosion is not sufficient and it has been identified that the GAK levels does not correspond to knowledge hierarchy of curriculum and instructional area between departments and class levels.
