An Investigation on the Levels of Extrinsic Job Satisfactions of Science and Technology Teachers According to Some Demographic Variables

In this study, it is aimed to point out the extrinsic job satisfactions of science and technology teachers. Correlative and comparative survey model and random sample method are used in this study. The sample of the research is composed of 204 Science and Technology teachers working in Istanbul. Form of the Teacher’s Personal Properties and Minnesota Work Satisfaction Questionnary Scale (MSQ) are used for collecting data. There is a significant difference in job satisfaction scale extrinsic satisfaction points for the variables taking classes except science, the kind of school, having a car, paying rent for the house, existence of another teacher in the family and having in service training. On the contrary, for the variables gender, age, marital status, having children, number of children, years in service, having a master degree, number of schools she/he worked in, working as a manager, having an extra job which makes income, sort of extra job, advising to became science teacher to others and extra income no significant difference is found in job satisfaction scale extrinsic satisfaction points.
