Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to examine the stres level of candidate teachers in terms of some demographic variables. In this study which has been carried out with the participation of total 1587 candidate teachers ’’Scale of Depression, Anxiety and Stress’’ is used which is translated to Turkish by Akın and Çetin (2007). In analysis of data, arithmetic mean, t-test, variance analysis and Scheffe test techniques were used. Analysis results show that stress level of candidate teachers doesn’t differentiate according to gender, family, smoking and alcohol, accomodation and education variables. However, it is found that the stress level of candidate teachers differentiates meaningfully according to variables such as; worry of appointment, the way of choosing the department, the lecturers’ attitude during the lesson and income. In this study, a deduction has been made by evaluating and discussing all findings within the scope of literature, and some proposals have been suggested.
