Primary School Students’ Perceptions of Responsibility Value with Their Written Expression Products
Abstract :
This study aims to determine primary school students’ perceptions on responsibility value based on their written expression products. In this context, students were asked to express their views about responsibility value though written expression. Determined that at 1st grade, the frequent type of written product was written cartoon; at the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, the frequent type of written product was poem; at all grade levels the least used type of written products were slogan, scenario and tongue twister. Students’ written expression products were analyzed though document analyze method to determine primary students’ perceptions of responsibility value. There were 4 themes and 23 sub-themes that were attained on the perceptions of responsibility value. As a consequence of examining themes about students’ perceptions of responsibility value, it has been determined that 36 themes were about personal responsibilities, 102 themes were about school responsibilities and 45 themes were about social responsibilities. Additionally, in this study, it has been concluded that primary students’ perceptions of responsibility value increases in variety as the grade level rises.
