Comparison of Teachers and School Administrators Opinions Related to In-Service Training Activities
Abstract :
This research is aimed to specify the views of school directors, teachers and diversity of these views related to in-service training activities. As a qualitative research method, semi-structured interviewing has been used in this research. Interviewing has been carried out through voice recording and taking notes. Content analysis has been used in order to analyse. Themes and sub-themes have been constituted. Target population of the research has consisted of ten school principals, ten school vice-principals, eighteen teachers working in the city centre of Eskişehir. They all have joined in-service training activities in the past year. This research was carried out beginning of 2013-2014 education year. At the end of the research it was seen that arising from administration positions, the school principals, vice-principals and teachers have not only some same views, but also different views. For the same reason, their aims of participation in in-service training, contributions of the service traning to their professional development, problems encountered and proposed solutions to these problems, desired in-service training subjects had also some similarities and differences.
