Abstract :
The purpose of this study was specified to investigate computer self-efficacy perceptions and attitudes toward computer-aided instruction (CAI) of science teacher candidates according to different variables and to determine the relationship between these two parameters. The research executed by relational screening model was carried out by participation of 155 science teacher candidates. “The attitude toward CAI scale” and “computer self-efficacy perception scale” were used as data collection tool. Arithmetic mean, independent t-test, one way variance analysis and Pearson correlation analysis were used to analyze data. At the end of the study, the attitudes toward CAI and computer self-efficacy perception of science teacher candidates were found to be at positive level. Computer self-efficacy perception of science teacher candidates was found significantly different with respect to internet access status, owning a personal computer, the time of computer usage and status receiving computer education. Additionally, their attitudes toward CAI were found significantly different according to their class level, time of computer usage and status receiving computer education. On the other hand, a significant relation was found between computer self-efficacy perception and attitudes toward CAI of science teacher candidates.
