Teaching Multiple Cubical Geometrical Structures Topic with Cabri 3D:Students’ Views
Abstract :
In this study, it is aimed to find out students’ views while they were using a three-dimensional Dynamic Geometry Software, Cabri 3D, in learning multiple cube geometric structures. For this purpose, a computer based learning environment was designed to teach multiple cube geometric structures. The study was carried out with 41 students in a secondary school. After the implementation, interviews were conducted with 9 students. The research’s method was the case study which is one of the qualitative inquires. The data obtained from interviews with students were analyzed by content analysis. According to the results, students evaluated the learning environment positively by the aspect of easiness, development of positive attitude, increasing the activity of students, benefits of using software. Result of the study also reported that the students wanted to have lessons in the computer based learning environment in the future. However, it is occurred that the computer based learning environment has some weak aspects like getting bored and problems about using software. It is suggested that doing implementations for decreasing students’ problems and adopting them for the computer based learning environment would be done based on the results of the research.
