Abstract :
In this research, the aim is to determine competency perceptions of secondary school mathematics teachers about the alternative measurement and evaluation techniques and level of the use of these techniques. Sampling of the research is made of 154 mathematics teachers working at 38 different secondary schools which are in Diyarbakır city. In the research, survey model is used and data is obtained by “Competency Perceptions about Alternative Measurement and Evaluation Techniques Scale” and “The Level of The Use of Alternative Measurement and Evaluation Techniques Scale”. In order to analyze the data obtained from the research, descriptive statistics are used. As a result of the research, it has been determined that mathematics teachers consider themselves quite competent about alternative assessment and evaluation techniques and sometimes use these techniques in the learning process.
