Investigation of the Challenges Occurred In Arithmetic Verbal Problems That Required Multiplication
Abstract :
In this study, Elazığ a primary school located in the center of the second (n = 36) and third (n = 36) errors graders multiplication requires misconceptions they have lived in arithmetic word problems and have done has tried to identify with their cause. Document examination techniques of qualitative research methods used in the detection of errors, the clinical interviews with students was conducted in order to determine the causes of errors. The obtained data, first correct answer to be given to children s problems, wrong and classified according to whether their case is empty, false answers to later questions, classified and descriptive analysis were used according to the four types of errors identified by researchers. Making removal instead of shock as a result of the research, to collect instead of multiplication, addition and generalization to multiply rules of extraction, step by proceeding without scrolling 0 and questions that require multiplication of the multiplication rule incomprehension students 1 have been the misconception that most exhibits.
