Tendencıes of Change in Turkey Yayla Actıvıtıes and Theır Maın Outcomes
Abstract :
Turkey yaylas have great importance in terms of the human activities within them in addition to their common features as types of rural settlements.Therefore, yayla activity is one of the human activities which geographers have closely followed for a long time. As well known, Turkey population gains more urban characteristics day by day and the population in city centers surpass the population in rural areas. As a natural outcome of this case, the number of yaylas in Turkey decreases and many yaylas serve for recreational purposes instead of their conventional functions. In the present study, it was aimed to analyze the current changes in Turkey yayla activities that are clearly observed to be in a significant change in both quantity and quality. For this aim, Turkey yayla activities were dealt with as a whole; the terminology of yayla and yayla activities were evaluated in a framework; and, by analyzing the geographical distribution of yayla activities, their socio-economic outcomes and types of housing, it was aimed to present the process of change in details.
