Abstract
This research project is done to standardize Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test III (R) in İzmir Region. The 253 children between 3,01-3,12 years old who live in İzmir and the towns near İzmir used as subjects. In this research 253 children are used as subjects. PPTV III ( R ) target words ( N= 204 ) were translated to Turkish Language and given to the subjects individually. The number of target words which are known by subjects were used as raw scores of the subjects . In order to construct a more sensitive test, each age group divided to 4 sub groups which each has 3 mounts interval. The raw scores were used in statistical analyses. According to the analyses, raw scores converted to standard norm scores. Standard norm tables which have mean=100 and standard deviation= 10 were obtained. The standardized norm tables which have 3 mounts interval for each age group were used as our İzmir Region standardized norm values.
