Title Of Article :
Turkish Form of the Self-Efficacy for Managing Work-Family Conflict Scale: Construct Validity and Reliability
Abstract :
This study aimed to conduct the adaptation study of Turkish form of the Self-Efficacy for Managing Work-Family Conflict Scale (SE-WFC) and examine its psychometric properties. Turkish version of the SE-WFC was administered to 252 participants including 157 (62.3%) female and 95 (37.7%) male. Ages of the participants were ranging from 22 to 65 and the mean was 37.32. Participants represented 22 different vocations. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted on the Turkish form of the SE-WFC to confirm a two-factor- structure including self-efficacy for “managing work-family conflict and “managing family-work conflict”. CFA of Turkish form of the SE-WFC indicated a good fit for the measurement model with the twofactor structure (x^2 = 50.58, sd = 19, p .01, GFI = .95, AGFI = .91, CFI = .99, SRMR = .026, RMSEA = .081). Internal consistency was examined with Cronbach’s alpha coefficients and composite reliability was assessed with Mc Donald’s Omega coefficients. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were .95 for the total scale, .94 for the self-efficacy for managing work-family conflict and .94 for the self-efficacy for managing family-work conflict subscales. Additionally, Mc Donald’s Omega (ω) coefficients were .96 for the total scale, .94 for the selfefficacy for managing work-family conflict, .93 for the self-efficacy for managing family-work conflict subscales. In conclusion, Turkish form of the Self-Efficacy for Managing Work- Family Conflict presented sufficient evidence for psychometric properties regarding construct validity and reliability
