    A new record for the Polychaeta fauna of the Black Sea: Prionospio (Minuspio) maciolekae Dağlı Çınar, 2011 (Polychaeta: Spionidae)

  • Abstract
    A total of 1624 specimens of Prionospio (Minuspio) maciolekae, which is new to the fauna of the Black Sea, were encountered. Samples were taken monthly at 8 stations around the coast of Sinop. This species had the highest population density (9050 ind. m-2) at station 6 in February and the lowest density (25 ind. m-2) at stations 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8 in different months. The highest mean density of this species (1754 ind.m-2) was found in February, the lowest (192 ind. m-2) in June. In this study, the morphology, ecology and distribution of P. (M.) maciolekae were presented.
