  • Abstract
    Non-indigenous species in ballast tanks have been transporting by vessels known since centuries all over the world. Diatoms, resting spores of diatoms, dinoflagellates and cysts, ciliates and protozooplanktonic organisms are the primary candidates for successfull ballast tank water transport. This study focuses on Ciliata and reveals two new taxa of Tintinnida which were not recorded in any previous studies in Izmir Bay.
