Title Of Article :
The length-weight relationship of spirlin, Alburnoides bipunctatus (Bloch, 1782) in freshwaters of Turkey
Abstract :
The present work was aimed at determining the length-weight relationship of spirlin in the freshwater of Turkey. For this purpose, total of 2191 spirlin specimens were examined belonging to the Western Black Sea, Great Menderes, Sakarya, Susurluk, Marmara, Eastern Black Sea, Aras, Çoruh, Dicle and Kızılırmak basins in the museum of Freshwater Fish collection in Ege University Fisheries Faculty. Total lengths ranged from 3.2 to 13.0 cm and total weights from 0.28 to 25.26 g for all individuals of the species in the freshwater of Turkey. Length-weight relationship parameters were computed as a=0.0083, b=3146, R2=0967 for both sexes.
